How to DIY the Party Decoration and Other Things for Your Kid’s Party

Kid party decorations made easy? You should definitely say YES instantly. Throwing a party can be quite stressful, especially if it involves some noisy, rowdy, and naughty little children. If it’s not done the proper way, you might end up the next day on your bed with some bruises and a cold pea pack on your head (read: massive headache). Preparing the food is one thing, but to have to figure out the suitable party decoration and other things? Don’t fret just yet. Kid’s party decoration can be super fun and not as complicated to make on your own if you do find some time. Remember this in mind: at least the best thing about a kid’s party is that you don’t actually have to spend a fortune compare to other kinds of parties. Follow these simple tips for your kid’s party decorations:

  1. Figure out how many guests there will be

Before you start with your party decorations, make sure that you already figure out how many boys and girls there will be at your kid’s party. This will make it much easier for you to do the decorations later on, and also to avoid you from making too much party decorations that are unnecessary. Sometimes more isn’t always the merrier.

  1. Sort out the age group

Will there be a certain age group at your kid’s party or mixed? When it comes to toddlers, they’re usually much less interested in decorations but are more excited about toys and things that they can play with. So it’s wise if you don’t go overboard and only make the decorations as needed. Also, be sure that you have enough space in the party room for the kids to play around and to place some decorations.

  1. DIY time!

Here are some DIY ideas that you can do for your kid’s party:

  • Party/favor bags- this is the best part about children’s party. Most kids are usually looking forward to getting the party/favor bags at the end of the party as they like surprises. You can make your own party bags by cutting some good cotton fabrics with cute and adorable prints on it. Cut the fabric in a rectangle shape, fill the cut-out pieces with some small trinkets, toys, candies, etc and tie it up with colorful ribbons. Voila!

  • Table decorations- decorate your party table by draping it with candy. Not only will it be unique and eye-catching, the children will surely eat the candies in a flash! Get some candy necklaces and tie them together around the table to make a circle.

  • Birthday banner- search for the right letters in every different shape and style in used old cards, books, magazines, or packaging. Then, enlarge the letters to about 9 inches using a photocopier or scanner. Cut the letters out and paste the letters on some cut-out pieces of numerous printed fabrics (the cut-out pieces can be in any shape). Next, tape them all to a string of ribbon and hang it on the wall.

  • Make some easy napkins/tissues- colored paper napkins or tissues can be cut out with scalloping, pinking, or regular scissors to create a variety of fun shapes for kids. You could try green-colored napkins to make leaf-shaped napkins, yellow for flower, pink for heart, or blue for fish-shaped napkins.
